นักแสดงหนังบู๊แอ๊คชั่นชื่อดังเฉินหลงกล่าวเช่นนั้นว่า กาแฟเป็นอีกภาษาสากลซึ่งผู้คนทั่วโลกใช้สื่อสารกัน เป็นสะพานเชื่อมใน วงสนทนา ไม่ว่าจะเป็นหัวข้อจริงจังอย่างการเจรจาธุรกิจ หรือเรื่องผ่อนคลายชวนหัวระหว่างเพื่อนฝูง เปรียบเทียบกับภาษาต่าง ๆ ต่างพื้นที่ ต่างพูดภาษากาแฟด้วยสำเนียงของตน อันมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตามบริบททางวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ประเทศทางอาหรับกับเติร์กมีวิธีการสื่อสารเครื่องดื่มชนิดนี้ด้วยรูปแบบเฉพาะ ใช้หม้อต้มฐานกว้างปากแคบ ในขณะที่ฝั่งแอฟริกา โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง ประเทศต้นกำเนิดกาแฟอย่างเอธิโอเปีย จะเห็นได้ว่าการจิบกาแฟ นั้นแทบจะเป็นพิธีกรรม ส่วนทางฝั่งยุโรปได้คิดค้นวัสดุอุปกรณ์ หลายแบบในการคั่วและชง อีกทั้งยังนำไปเผยแพร่ยังดินแดนภายใต้อาณานิคมอย่างเอเชียและอเมริกากลางและใต้
นอกจากนั้น เทรนด์แต่ละยุคสมัยก็แตกต่างกันด้วย ยกตัวอย่างใกล้ ๆ เช่นเมืองไทย เราเริ่มต้นการดื่มกาแฟโดยใช้ถุงผ้ากรอง กากในรูปแบบโอเลี้ยง ซึ่งเป็นกาแฟดำใส่น้ำตาลไม่ใส่นม กับอีกอย่างคือกาแฟโบราณใส่นมข้นหวาน ตอนเช้ามักจิบเป็นกาแฟ ร้อนกินคู่กับปาท่องโก๋ ช่วงสายและบ่ายเมื่ออากาศร้อนอบอ้าวเปลี่ยนเป็นเมนูเย็นหวานมัน ต่อมาร้านกาแฟเริ่มนำเครื่องเอสเพรสโซมาใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลาย ทำให้เกิดเมนูพื้นฐานอย่างเอสเพรสโซ คัปปุชชีโน ลาเต้ หรือมอคค่า รวมทั้งเมนูอื่น ๆ ตามแต่ เจ้าของคาเฟ่จะรังสรรค์ขึ้นมา และต่อมาเมื่อไม่กี่ปีมานี้ที่กระแสสโลบาร์เริ่มเข้ามามีบทบาทบ้าง ผู้บริโภคต่างตอบรับการชงแบบ ดริป ไซฟ่อน แอร์โร่เพรส กระทั่งมอคค่าพอทบ้าง เริ่มซื้อหาหันมาใช้อุปกรณ์พื้นฐานเหล่านี้ ทดลองชงเองที่บ้าน โดยซื้อเมล็ดกาแฟทั้งจากของไทยและต่างประเทศจากโรงคั่วที่มีอยู่มากมาย ซึ่งดูจะเป็นทางเลือกที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น สำหรับผู้บริโภคแล้ว แม้กระแสหลักยังคงอยู่แต่แนวโน้มกาแฟพิเศษที่เน้นคุณภาพก็กำลังค่อย ๆ ขยับและได้รับความนิยมมากขึ้นด้วยเช่นกัน หากหันมามองที่ฝ่ายเกษตรกรและผู้ผลิตบ้างเราจะพบว่าต่างก็ตื่นตัว ด้วยเช่นเดียวกันในเรื่องของการปรับปรุงพัฒนาสายพันธุ์การปลูก การเก็บและวิธีแปรรูปในแบบต่าง ๆ ซึ่งล้วนเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญอันส่งผลโดยตรงต่อคุณภาพ เรียกว่าเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงมหาศาลจากต้นทางถึงปลายทาง จากกล้าสู่แก้วเลยทีเดียว

Now a day, many coffee shops install the espresso machines, having standard menu like cappuccino, latte, mocha and other signature drinks created by owner of shop. Recently, Slow Bar' is getting more popular: customers consent the brewing method to Drip Syphon, Aeropress, and Moka potConsumers trent to buy the basic tools, such as Filter coffee and brewing at homeThey select both domestic and international coffee beans from many local roastersIt's one of alternative way to drink coffee for coffee lover. The dominant way is still exist; on the other hand, Trend of Specialty coffee also gain popular, too.
